Just days after its last big Escapes, Ford released its fourth major draw of the month for more than 252,900 Explorers and Police Interceptor Utility vehicles due to a drive shaft misalignment that could result in relocation.

Affected SUVs include Explorer vehicles from the 2020-22 model year and the Police Interceptor Utility. The horizontal mounting bolt on the rear axle may break and cause the drive shaft to disengage, potentially overturning when the vehicle is parked without the parking brake applied, increasing the risk of an accident.
Depending on the vehicle, dealers will replace the bushing and axle cover or update the electronic parking brake software; anyway, the fix will be made for free.
